I joined Insight Accounting Group in 2007 after spending time as an auditor at a national public accounting firm and as a branch controller for a large manufacturing company in Elkhart County. It is not often that an accountant returns to public accounting after spending time in industry, but it was during my time in industry that I discovered my true calling. While working closely with plant managers to help them understand financial data and how the decisions they make impact their financial results, I realized that this type of work is what I am most passionate about.

In my role at Insight, I have the opportunity to work with an amazing team of individuals who share my passion. Together we work closely with business owners and directors of not-for-profits on both a compliance and an advisory level. We understand that it is not only important to know where an organization has been (the compliance piece) but to also fully understand what led the organization there and then help them take an active role in determining where they are going (the advisory piece). There is nothing more satisfying than seeing team members and / or organizations accomplish their goals!

My time at Manchester University instilled a desire in me to serve others. I am grateful that Insight Accounting Group shares this value and gives me the opportunity to be active in our community. I enjoy serving as the Treasurer for the United Way of Elkhart and LaGrange Counties along with serving on their education panel. Serving this organization led to an opportunity to serve with an amazing group of individuals on the Finance Committee for the Indiana United Ways. I also serve as the Treasurer for the Greater Goshen Association.
